ABOUT THE ROLE
The Sr NPD Project Engineer will support product realization through cross-functional team collaboration. They will also be responsible for managing portions of the new product design process. Additional responsibilities include:
Be responsible for leading portions of the design process, completing assigned tasks, assisting other members of the team, and helping to ensure projects are completed
Develop schedules, coordinate and manage low complexity projects without supervision.
Prepare budgets and defines resource needs for projects
Assist with completion of the Product Realization Stage Gate Requirements.
Give direction to supporting personnel such as Engineers, Designers, and Technicians.
Follow established procedures for creation and maintenance of CAD databases and libraries.
Participate in the review of engineering drawings prior to the release to manufacture. Responsible for final approval of applicable drawings.
Ensure that selected parts and processes meet project and company goals for cost efficiency and reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years progressive experience in Engineering design and/or development
Experience working on highly technical, innovative projects and solving challenging problems
Experience with 3D parametric modeling
Experience running finite element modeling and check design feasibility within mechanical, thermal or multi-physics environments.
Technical knowledge in mechanism design, linkages, springs, statics, dynamics and materials
Familiar with manufacturing methods such as casting, machining, molding, stamping & forming
Familiarity with new product development Stage Gate Process.
Experience with DFMEA and DOE required.
Experience with GD&T and tolerance stack up analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Nice to have:
ProE/Creo and Finite Element analysis
Experience in medium/high voltage electrical power systems a plus
Experience with trip free, stored energy or actuated mechanism design a plus.
