ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role you will function as a Flight Test Engineer for the F/A-18 and EA-18G Avionics Mission Systems/ Communication Navigation Information (AVMS/CNI) Team. Responsibilities include:
· Prepare flight cards for aircraft testing during the development and V & V phases.
· Prepare and present flight briefings.
· Prepare and communicate flight test objectives.
· Develop and present operations for live fire events.
· Develop flight test profiles.
· For test flight profile changes, develop addendum for the FTP and obtain AWL CTP approval.
· Provide Flight Test Scheduling and reporting of the actual count of ordnance expended during testing.
· Provide advice and expertise regarding mishap risk mitigation due to test resource limitations.
· Ensure the hazard tracking system is updated based on test results
QUALIFICATIONS
· U.S. Citizenship is required
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance for the duration of employment.
· 3+ years of relevant experience in Flight Test Engineer or similar role
· Experience with requirements traceability.
· Experience dealing with safety issues.
· Experience with aircraft configuration.
· Experience with external configuration.
· Experience with flight Test profiles.
Nice to have qualifications:
· B.S. degree in Engineering (HS degree or AAS degree acceptable with more years of experience)
· Experience with F/A-18 and EA-18G Avionics Mission Systems, and Communication, Navigation, Information Systems a plus.
