ABOUT THE ROLE
The Municipal Finance Supervisor is responsible for supervising Municipal staff, successful operation of the Service Center and assisting other MCA departments with improving the processes for multiple Municipal clients. The role responsibilities include:
• Supervising municipal billing staff, including scheduling, and performance reviews
• Implement and facilitate regular staff meetings to ensure timely communication
• Establish protocol for all data entry into Municipal billing system
• Assist with management of Municipal projects requiring finance experience (billing, asset management plans, TMF capacity studies, rate studies, budgets, rate setting
• Implement & facilitate monthly calendar of activities
• Prepare and submit monthly reporting to City Finance department
• Document Municipal billing policies and procedures
• Implement Water Leak SOP utilizing Neptune meter reading software
• Coordinate permitting activities for City Engineering department
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5 years of experience leading or with experience in various financial and accounting related tasks for a municipality or firm including
• Grant/loan reimbursement, water and engineering department operation knowledge, water department billing, collections, rate setting, budget planning, payroll experience
Preferred qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in accounting or bookkeeping preferred, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education & experience
• Experience with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with Municipal billing software – preferably BS&A
